Visitors Guide

Here are some extra bits of info for our out of town guests!

Airports

Ontario International Airport – closest to wedding (~1 hr drive or longer if traffic is bad)

San Diego International Airport – slightly further away (a little over an hour, or longer depending on traffic–there’s always some kind of traffic)

Note – we do not recommend booking a hotel near either airport as both are at least an hour from the wedding venue.

Transportation

Because the airports are far away from the wedding venue, there aren’t typically any airport shuttles from the hotels. We’ve anticipated this and invite our out of town guests to inquire with the bride or groom about Uber vouchers to help offset the cost of travel transportation.

Weather

Temecula weather in late October/early November is usually great. It averages mid-60s, but we definitely advise checking the weather app before you visit since we’ve seen temps in the 80s, too!

Stuff to Do in Temecula

If you’re coming from out of town and would like to make a vacation out of your stay, we don’t blame you! There are tons of things to do in Temecula.

Wine Tasting
Go sip some wine at one of Temecula’s many wineries, or sign yourself up for a wine tour. If you try a wine you like at the wedding, we can probably send you to the winery itself for more. More info on wineries & Temecula winery FAQ.

Old Town Temecula
For lovers of antiquing, history, and quaint little towns, look no further than Old Town Temecula. There are fun shops to explore, and loads of good places to eat or grab a drink. Aly recommends Old Town Sweet Shop & Temecula Lavender Co. in particular! More info about Old Town.

Breweries
If you are more of a beer drinker than a wine person, Temecula has both breweries & meaderies that will delight you. We recommend the 8 Bit Brewery barcade in particular. More about Temecula breweries.

Not something we love, but for you crazy people who are into the idea of being way, way up in the air, hot air ballooning is big in Temecula and the photo ops are tremendous.

Stuff to Do Near Temecula

Right off the bat, Disneyland is about an hour and a half drive from Temecula, but could be longer if there is traffic (and like most of SoCal, there usually is traffic…) so if you are planning on visiting the magic kingdom, plan accordingly.

For something very different (and the opposite direction from Disneyland) we recommend the San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park. The zoo is about an hour-ish from Temecula, and the weather should be pretty amazing for a day of walking around outside.

If you’re set on going to the beach while you’re in SoCal, remember that the Pacific ocean is going to be really cold in November. The nearest beach is Oceanside City Beach about an hour away. Carlsbad State Beach is also a great option and not much further.
